My textile art work is mainly embroidered pictures and wall hangings, often using hand made felt as a background. I construct pictures using colours of threads much as a painter uses paint. Generally using a sewing machine, I also finish tiny details and applique effects by hand. Recently I have tried to challenge myself by producing portraits in stitch. Reflections and garden flowers are continuing subjects in both representational and abstract images.
I work to commission. Felt Making workshops and Art Shows help to promote opportunities. I also give talks about my Inspirations and Techniques.
